Covid19 vs Revolution

As a solo creative and highly intuitive empath, I am presently struggling with the brutal world that is ours.
The world is polarised at a time that should be ripe for healing. Normally, I prefer to reflect my opinions through my art, but lately find that there is a limit to what I can tolerate.

Enforced shut down, has made many of us have take stock and appreciate what we have. A lack of constant, mindless chatter and commercialism has, in an ironic way, provided an opportunity to find comfort in the ordinary. On one hand, the generosity and support people have shown to each other has been uplifting, but on the other, selfishness and disregard for others has cast a shadow.

People are at breaking point, with festering scars being opened savagely. Social media has brought to the surface, what many of us have long known, it is a brutal and unjust world for far too many.
In this time, when our world is balanced on a knife edge, it would be irresponsible not to fight for change in so many arenas of our society. Sadly, it will be a long and difficult task given such deep grievances, the current health crisis and such poor leadership. As people, we cannot grow without change.

My own frustration stems from the ignorance and an unwillingness of so many to view the world through the eyes of another. We all walk our own path, but there is no excuse not to educate oneself, empathise and contribute in our own way for change. The lessons we learn are not easy and will leave many uncomfortable and defensive. We need to put ourselves in the place of others, those who have no choice but to fight for their lives, literally.

I have always travelled a path less obvious than most, living my truth and accepting those I meet for the people they are. I see the differences in those around me, but I embrace those differences as a way for me to learn, grow and enrich my world.
